Leaders for Sustainable Development

CEL-NET has been set up as a platform to build the leadership commitment of youth and professionals interested in climate change and environment to secure sustainable development. In today’s world, major stakeholders are called upon to resolve creatively the multiple environmental threats by demonstrating ever more strong and competent leadership.

We are committed to sensitising and widening the leadership capacities of individuals and organizations from across the government, business, non-profit, education, and media sectors to advance the understanding and development of appropriate leadership for a sustainable society.

Our aim is to develop appropriate leadership and action in the field of climate change and environment.

Climate Leadership Training Programs (CLTP) envisaged by CEL-NET will have the following leadership focus:

• Lead for change, overpower obstacles and become more persuasive
• Take new roles, communicate cross-functionally and draw mutual benefits
• Build strategic leadership skills by acting decisively, influencing others’ commitment and managing high-pressure situations

Climate Leadership Training Programs (CLTP) envisaged by CEL-NET will have the following environmental focus:

• Become more conversant in dealing with complex climate change problems by identifying factors that encourage or discourage creativity in management and mitigation of environmental problems
• Contribute to sustainable development through supportive leadership and multi-stakeholder participation
• Receive an assessment of environmental and climate change leadership styles and behaviors; also learn about inspiration, ethics and real life local, national and international case studies in sustainable development

CEL-NET activities will include

• Climate Leadership Training Programs targeted at youth, business, NGOs, media, professionals and junior diplomats
• An annual CEL-NET Summer School
• High-Level Policy Dialogues
• Media and Communications Campaign
• Seminars, Workshops and Conferences
• Joint Research Activities
